Gift of Reading

I used Daily Five in my classroom.  This year to introduce Read to Self, I have wrapped up their book baskets.  I am going to make a big deal about their book baskets and they will all get to open a present! Afterwards we will do our Good-Fit book lesson and they will get to fill their book baskets with good-fit books.  :)

I ordered these gift bags from Amazon.  They are actually small shopping bags.  I got 50 bags for 20 dollars.  I plan on reusing them for Christmas gifts and other projects.  :)

How excited are they going to be when they see these!?!?

Supply Cake

So I am excited that I get to serve as a Mentor Teacher again this year.  My "mentee" this year is a first year Kindergarten teacher.  I made her this cute supply cake as a welcome to our school.  I got everything I needed at Target for right at $20.00. I took full advantage of tax free weekend!  :)

Here is what you need....

1 paper tray
1 pencil holder
2 packs of crayons
2 self inking stamps
3 packages of bookmarks
1 magnetic To-Do list
2 packages of notecards
8 glue sticks
8 packages of crayons
3 rolls of tape
4 packages of tissue
6 mini erasers

I stuck everything together with "teacher tack" and tape.  To form the base of the supply cake, I turned the paper tray upside down.  The middle tier was the pencil holder upside down as well.  Then, I just added all of the supplies and made it look cute!

Here it is...
